Default Band Saw Mod/Clamp

I saw this neat trick on some web-site I visited but can not remember it and if any one out there knows the guy Please let me know so I can give him credit.

Anyway, it's just a Drill Press clamp mounted to the base of the band saw. I don't really use the vise any more.

Default Saw Clamp

That's great... thanks for passing the ideas along. I'll put one of those clamps to use when I get my bandsaw, but for now, I am still forced to use the vise on my motorized hacksaw.

Huh! I just bought an extra drill press clamp week before last. I wondered what I planned to do with it.

Hi all, this is my first post here.

When I saw these pix last night I kind of scoffed....some of the photos show stock being held in the same way the factory "vise" would hold it.

Then this morning I needed to cut a pair of gussets (first ones I've ever needed or cut) and BAM!....I had just seen the solution the night before

Thanks for sharing.

John

I made two different sizes of this clamp and really like them. I believe I got the idea from you, Ed, but I don't know where you first saw it. I've used them set up as you've got 'em and also bolted them to the moving vise carriage. I bought mine at HF if anyone wants to play with this idea.

That's a great idea. 1911man just told me he made one, But I forgot ever seeing his.
