Default oil capacity charts?
Does anyone know of a good website where I can enter in a year, make, model, and engine of a vehicle, and it will tell me how many quarts of oil I need to pour in for an oil change? I know the owners manual says it, but sometimes I do oil changes for my relatives, and they don't have their owners manuals.

I usually have to GiGGle it and see and sometimes it right and sometimes wrong so I buy an extra couple quarts, never a bad idea to have extra oil on hand and hell if its for a relation, I just give them, the extra quart's and tell them here's the receipt you can return it if you don't want it... but your gonna pay me for it... that is if I paid out of pocket for it... but best to let them waste the time and fuel to pick up what's needed and bring it all to me.

You might want to bookmark this site. It's hawking Amsoil but, it has lube specs and capacities. It came up spot on for an old Pathfinder 3.6 Qts.

I just looked mine up for 99 Tahoe and it calls for everything fluid wise for synthetic
but my manual calls for nonsynthetic... didn't see the capacity specks...

Yeah when I first looked at it, I couldn't find capacities either. You'd think it would be right at the top where it suggests the oil type. You have to scroll down to where it says CAPACITIES. I looked up a 99 Tahoe and it says 5 qts.

I just changed oil in a 2007 Durango and the dipstick said full at 6 quarts. The website calls for 5.9... Close enough for me!

Ron is turning a different Shade of purple now that we have a lube expert that recommends amsoil the oil that gets your motor dirty
