Default new truck body

I finally decided that I need a small crane on my truck as my back isn't what it used to be. I also need a flatbed body to mount it on. I priced a factory body but my own came in about half price. Also, the factory body would have to be cut up and rebuilt to accept the crane. I used 1/4" wall 3"x3" square tubing for the crossmembers where the crane mounts and 3" channel for all other crossmembers. The bed bottom is 1/8" diamond floor plate. I remembered to take a few pictures. The last picture with the four bolts is where the crane will go.

That's a nice looking deck. Well done.
If I were you I'd settle for that crane you lifted the deck with

Left rear corner. Twenty feet to top of stick. Not enough for pipe but everything around here is black poly anyway.

That makes a pretty good crane but not so portable.

Nice looking bed, and well built. Ive got a F450 with a stake bed on it, the lousy bed rails are so thin, its literally rusted out, and I need a new bed, but dont have the time to fab one, although Id really like to. Like yours, Ive bought the crane, but dont have anything to bolt it too ! (or nothing that I think would keep the crane on the body.

I also need to add a hide-away goose neck ball.. Maybe I need to make the time.

Mind me asking roughly what you spent on steel ?
