Default Jet JVM 836-1 Jet Milling Machine

The second half of the Jet DP and Mill package, I talked about in the JDP-20EVS/230 thread, is the Jet JVM 836-1 milling machine. This is a small floor standing knee mill, with a 8" x 36" table, a 1 1/2 hp drive motor thats either 115/230 single phase, with a R-8 spindle taper. Its a v-belt and pulley drive system, with 5 speeds, 240-1550rpm, I made a secondary "transmission", that increases the number of speeds to 25, 80-1800 rpm. I also wanted a greater spindle to table spacing, so I installed the 4" riser block, a Grizzly product (H8107) for their G6760, milling machine, which is identical to the Jet. When I purchased the mill and DP, I had been looking for a Bridgeport type mill for over 3 years, with no luck, when the package deal came through, I grabbed it. The mill was a completely manual mill, since I have owned it, I've also installed X, Y and Z power feeds. Is it a perfect mill, no, but its far better than anything I found in my 3 years of looking, I have a bigger mill in storage, but until I get a bigger tool closet, this will have to do. I'm very happy with the mill and the 2 Jet DPs I have, and would not hesitate to buy another Jet product. Again the cost for the base unit is about $3500.

I've been crawling on my belly, clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions. I wanna feel the change consume me, feel the outside turning in. I wanna feel the metamorphosis and cleansing I've endured within.
My shadow. Change is coming. Now is my time. Listen to my muscle memory. Contemplate what I've been clinging to.
