Default Markal Silver Streak Marking Pen

I've been using the Markal Silver Streak marking pen for a long time, The pen, #96006, comes with one marking insert, and is about $4 and a six pack of refills, #96007, is about $3, from the LWS. A very fine silver line, smudge resistant, and easy to follow with a torch, plasma cutter or saw. The last time I was in TSC, they have them in the welding section, in a Hobart labeled blister pack, a pen and six refills for $5.

After several attempts at trying to find something better than the rect. or round soap stones, I finally stumbled on and started using the same line of marker and inserts. The do work well for the darker materials.

I have used them for years, sometimes they are better than soapstone, sometimes not.

Yea, you can't beat soap stone and a concrete floor to make last minute plan/fabrication changes or computations. The welders calculator.

BTW, I don't see any way of buying direct from that link.

I've never found a local supplier that could get me the red round inserts for the pen holder, nor have I found one on-line. I was given some of the red years ago, and used them up. They will work well with AL. and s/s. Very visible.

PhotoM', that is for the silver refil markers only, they don't handle the red marker refils.
