Default 4 1/2" cut off wheels....

I usualy pick up 10 - 20 of the northerntool ones when I'm out and about as they seem to hold up ok for the price...$1.78ish each....well I was in Lowes and noticed the Dewalt extended duty or what ever they are called.....I'll look in the morning....well I picked up two of them to try out....for close to the same price they are great.....I was cutting a piece of angle iron and the disk got caught / pinched when the material fell and it broke a big chunk off of it... I put it right back to use and it has lasted I'd bet twice if not longer than the northern tool ones.....I'll be picking up some more next time I get a chance....

Mike,

How thick are the wheels? I normally use the Walter .045" (3/64") zip wheels, they run about $2.23 ea. they have a spiral design on the sides to pull the grinding dust away, they cut fast and last along time.

Anybody else like the Metabo cut offs? I have had good luck with them. Thinking about getting a box of 50 or 100 on ebay.

Metabo's used to be very good. They were all I ever used. My supplier stopped carrying them several years ago. I just picked up some crappy Nortons at Homey Despot. As much as I use them, they'll be fine. At least they are cheap.

I used the HF 10-pack for $7 on my little DW grinder. I've put a couple through the new Makita and they don't do so well. Picked up a couple Norton's and they seem to catch more, but work alright.
