Friend of mine is also looking at getting a Woodmizer sawmill.

Used to run a woodmizer back when I was a teenager. If the back would have given me a loan when I was 16, I would have bought it from the gentleman who owned it and my dad and I ran it for. But, that never materialized. So it is in the bucket list to make a band mill someday. At least, that is the dream.

I really want to check that sawmill out in person. Seen it before. I like the reuse of materials.

So I got a few off the cuff quotes to cut trees off 3-4 acres. Both said 7500-9000 sight unseen.

Might have one of my coworkers who is very good with a excavator and a chain saw hired for $300 a day.

...and he has NO incentive to hustle.

So your bill from him "When all is said and done" will probably be close
to the quoted numbers.

What size/flavor are these trees? How many? Any commercial value? Maybe "give" them away for cost of removal?

All Southern Yellow Pine. Most are straight as a arrow. 24-30" diameter and about 40-50' tall. Less than 100 trees, probably closer to 60. Probably is commercial value here.

Myself I'd like to see them saw into boards and used in the house.

If you don't work you don't get paid. I have expectations of what I want done. I don't give handouts.

Valuable trees for sure, they are cutting every tree in site in Sowega.
If you saw those trees into boards they need to dry for years,or kiln dry them.
No way you can saw them and nail them up.

Sure you can just add 2" to every measurement and it will shrink to size.
