I only did wet when I was doing Soda work . If you have to abide by opacity rules wet will keep you ok .The only issue I see is the chance of flash rusting being higher . I probably would spray a osfo on them post wet .Dry them and get the coating on them fast . As far as media goes I have used slag ,sand and glass .All get the work done but it boils down to cost in your area . What mill are you going to put them at ? I never had any lead issues but did not do much JD yellow .

Equipment probably 160 cfm or greater compressor ,diesel probably cheaper to operate but initial cost may make gas cheaper over 1000 hours . Guessing 5/16 nozzle , probably need a 600 pound pot .Be sure and use supplied air mask .This business can cause COPD issues .

Welcome to the foray Flàpoolman.
I saw a tv show not long ago that built a "half above ground" pool from a container. One side was dug into a hill, the other was exposed and they'd cut out and installed windows on the downhill side. Was kinda neat looking but seemed like a lotta work. I do remember them blasting it as well but their setup didn't look like anything terribly fancy. Labor to do a job that size would seem you'd want to go as big as you can. Naturally being a made-for-TV home improvement project they didn't give enough details to be helpful. |

a few months ago i borrowed a "dustless blaster".
big unit with a trailer mounted compressor. i blasted a 29' wanderlodge motorhome (all steel body,1969 vintage) in about 8 hours. i used about 1000lbs of glass and 3-4 gals of liquid that stopped flash rust. You add the liquid to the pressure pot. It really worked well for me and i had other motorhomes in the yard along with trucks etc. No real problem with dust (no dust). On the higher areas we used a platform on a forklift and i was the operator and only needed to wear a face shield and long sleave jacket. We blew the glass off the forklift later. the pallet of glass,2000lbs of it cost $400 plus shipping from atlanta. atalanta was 200 miles away, next time i will drive and get it myself. shipping was $600. The job turned out well and i would do it again. |

Probably scared him .For something like this HF is not the place to go .If doing just a few a month may be more reasonable to develop a relationship with a person in that line of work .
