Default Small Storage Shed

After completing the apartment redo, my child bride wants me to build her a storage shed. I started the photo taking a little late, so this is where it's at now.

Overall, the shed is 8' x 8' x 6'10 high. The floor is 3/4 ply sitting on 2x4s on 16" centers. The side runners are 2x6s doubled to act as a skid if the time ever comes that I need to load it on a trailer. Wall framing is on 24" centers.

I inletted the hinges for the doors before I put the end wall together. Now I have to build the doors, 2ea at 24".

And it's only 98F today.

Looks good. I noticed it was not so hot today, maybe it'll slow the fire down

Had some leftover double bubble radiant heat barrier, threw it up over the trusses before laying the roof sheathing down.

Temp still rising, it's at 103F now according to my weather station.

Bigb, I'm not holding out on slowing the fire down. The wind today is keeping it very much alive and no rain in the near future. Reddington has been my go-to deer hunt area for many years and it's getting awfully close.

I have an old rotten wood shed that I really need to tear down and re-build. Wife wants a small greenhouse, I'd like to build something half shed/half greenhouse. Maybe steel, on a slab. Don't really need much room for storage with approx 1300 square feet of garage and another small shed on the other side of the lot. My other thought was to build a few lockers for storing yard tools etc then a small greenhouse separate from that. Got the money, got the time, just need the "git er done" part which I don't find so easy anymore, specially in the summer heat.

Moving slowly on this, but still moving. It doesn't drop below 100F until way late in the day.

Shelves are complete, sized to fit this one box, and one sidewall sheeted with T1-11, then moving on to the other sidewall and then the back wall.

Nice shelves. Just like the ones I built for my storage van. Dug one potato plant up and got 7 small taters. We ate one raw with a tad of salt. Nothing like the fresh taste of a new potato.

You eat potatoes raw? I've tried it once, didn't find it to my liking. Taters need grilled onions to be decent.

Is your storage van an old OTR trailer or something like a Chevy van?

Oh yea, I eat potatoes raw too....just like Chris with a bit of salt. .....but fried with onion is good too.

My garden is getting it's second wind.....spud have all been dug as well as the onions and most of the garlic, but the tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, mellons and okra are just getting started.

Your storage shed looks great.
