This is not a machine tool but it fits in the context of tool culture quite well.

Try getting into the mind of the fellow that made this! I expect the thought of making one of these has not occurred to anyone in this country in the last 50 years.

I have had it for a number of years, probably from the scrap yard. I never realized it was shop made, I just tossed in in the bucket with the plethora of other tools.

It was likely made from leftovers and well thought. Small chuck for small drills and short throw for high speed. There is a roller thrust bearing on the end with a small cap for light feed.
