They do have rental caskets now.

My wishes are cremate my ass and spread me on the hay field, don't waste good ground on me.

As someone into genealogy I don't like to see cremation with out a stone somewhere .It will be hell hundred years from now when Jane wants to track great pa Ron . I will be cremated but a stone will be put on a old family cemetery if it would ever happen . One of my greatgreats went to the War of Northern Aggression and never came home . Was he buried as unknown or decided to not come home ?

I would like to be a mystery or enigma... or just to continue to be a pain in the
ass. Honestly, with all the electronic records we have now I doubt they will
have any issues tracking my fat ass.

I have been "in-to" Genealogy for quite a few years also and find that line,
"Cremated" disturbing. or the one in Find A Grave, "Burial unknown" . :-)
Occasionally there will be one that makes sense. :-)

We, wife & I, have our burials planned & paid for for .....10 years already. That includes our cremation, burial plot, headstone, etc. all done. I don't want to be blowing around in the wind or sticking to the bottom of someone's shoes, so we're going in the ground. A headstone will provide a place for people to come and cuss or praise me in the future.

I've always told those around me not to make a fuss, though I have no desire to be burned and spread around. Also, if I fall during the zombie apocalypse, don't be afraid to put me down for good. I'm not a fan of walking all that much now, much less for eternity.

I'll be alright wrapped up in a burlap sack, tossed in a hole, with a good view of the sky. There are a couple spots I have suggested that I'd like to be planted but none is any sort of official cemetery. At one time, that seemed like there would be no way for it to happen without dealing with gov interference and regulations. Having to get permission to be dead amazes me. But in today's world, it seems a more likely possibility that it could happen and I get my wish. If things go all to shit there won't be anyone to complain where the bodies end up.

They have to know where you're buried so they know where to come collect your vote.

Back in the fall I was going through Find A Grave and found several un-located cemeteries that only list my hometown as the location. There's defiantly a lack in record keeping.

Around here they are buying up and building on farmland like there is a race to develop the entire state. Then up sprouts these 100-200 home developments, houses 10' apart. Or these butt-ugly apartment complexes.

Anyhow, I doubt VERY much they are searching for family graveyards--they are just plowing that shit over.
But gods forbid some greenies see a gopher tortoise hole! All construction must cease, studies get done and tortoise relocated. I'm sure they are plowing those under if they can get away with it...
