Default New to Me Wellsaw 58B

Picked up over my lunch hour. In its former life it worked in a High School metal shop. Ordered repair parts for the cylinder and a couple of new blades. It looks pretty good for being 50 years old but needs some love.

Awesome! I have a 58B also but it is maybe 20 years newer than yours. I like old iron better than the newer cheap stuff whenever possible. The guy I bought mine from had a much newer offshore saw for the same price. It was easy for me.

Judge Bob's 58B is the fastest cutting little bandsaw I've ever seen.

By the way, I believe they call that a dashpot, not a cylinder.

Tinkered with the saw tonight. Bought some HF stem casters to move it around. They will work for now. Cutter you're correct it is a dashpot not a cylinder. Picked it up for $175.00, repair parts $70.00, and $40.00 for 2 new blades. I don't think I got hurt to bad if it cuts true. Good old USA iron.

$175 is a good price. I was very impressed with Bob's saw.

I wonder if our Kalamazoo (or how ever it's spelled) will be in that good a shape
in even half that time. :-( Kids just don't seem to have any mechanical sense.

$175?
A quality American made saw for the price of a HF saw kit, I'm hearing a distinct sucking sound.
