Really nice work, on a project that I'm sure was not run to do. Prayers for your family.

Beautiful casket.

They are something I don't understand, the cost and detail that goes into some of them. At some point when I'm older, but not too old, I plan on making my own and flat packing it with all the required assembly instructions and hardware.

I'll be dead, I don't need a fancy box with fancy polished handles and fixings on it.

I think you did very well.

I was talking with a person that worked at a funeral home on the side.
He told me the Jewish tradition was simple pine, and IIRC no nails/screws.

Having been involved in arrangements for several people over the years, the costs are astronomical. The real kicker, is that for those of us looking to save some $$, the laws and regs won’t allow it.

I’m sure that varies from area to area, and proper planning and prep work will also likely help.

The casket you built is a beautiful statement of pride, workmanship and caring. Nicely done.

Every once in a while a thread comes along that I can never forget, this is one of them. I expect it may cross my mind as I take my last few breaths.
