Default Socket set plastic

My dad has had this small SK socket set for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I remember grabbing this for him many times. After he passed, it is one of the items I am so glad I received. But the plastic that keeps all the tools in place is severely broken apart.

Any suggestions on how I can make a new "organizer" to keep the sockets in their place? I thought of using wood with a router and Forstner bits, but that seems like an awful lot of work.

I have a CNC plasma cutter that can except a router, but I've never used it as a router and don't really want to switch it over and learn how to router with it. If I had a 3-D printer, I would probably use that. Maybe it's time to invest in oneā€¦? Do you think they have these online maybe?

How about using some thin strips of metal running length ways of the box and either tack welding or epoxying them in? You could make several sections keeping the sockets together, extensions together in their area and the rachet in its area. Thin plywood might would work also by gluing them in.

Get one of those socket organizer strips, either metal or plastic, and glue it in. That is, if it doesn't add too much height.

...for the metal strips, pop-rivets work too.

Man, you sure learned 3-d printing fast! Looks good, and you kept the original box original. Nice job.
