Default Pickup box trailer into a hydraulic dump

Hey guys,
I converted my white turd of a pickup box trailer into a tilt/dump bed by making a new tongue and adding a HF hydraulic ram jack.
It worked out pretty good, and the price was right, especially compared to a new dump trailer.
Here's a link to the video I made of the fabrication process:

Very nice video and great idea. Where the old frame comes down and around the new tongue (U shaped) I would add ears if not long enough and then drill two holes and use a hitch pin through the holes so the pin is under the tongue holding it down. Otherwise love the whole build!

It appears you have the same condition I found myself in with my dump trailer. You could increase your dump angle by simply adding lift blocks to the suspension but I suspect you have already considered that. With the clay soil around my neck of the woods I suspect a dump angle less than 45 degrees would be a significant issue.

I love seeing projects that repurpose like this. That tree dent would have dissuaded most from considering anything useful from that truck bed. This is the real definition of “Green”. The definition of “green” corporate advertising is stuffing down the consumers throat means continued “green” in their pocket. Good on you!
