![]() These are being auctioned tomorrow locally. I "sort of" need something for aluminum use at the shop. Nothing thicker than 3/16, maybe 1/4" on occasion. Both are from a reputable (according to the auction house) seller and should work... Neither has a regulator. Both are single-phase, the 175 being 230v and the 300 being selectable from 208/230/460. The 175 is complete with pedal. Thin on "features" it would probably do what I need it to do. What would be your "can't leave without it" price? ![]() The 300 does not have a pedal, I'm assuming a standard Lincoln 6-pin, going rate from $100-$200ish. It does have a "built-in" torch cooler but no torch. This is one heavy bitch! I'm guessing 500lbs? What would be your "can't leave without it" price? ![]()

Auctions depend on who shows.
But $500-700 is a fair price for the 175. $1000-1200 is fair for the 300. They are single phase so they aren't going to linger like a 3 phase machine will.

Assuming someone "needs" an AC TIG, figure $750 for either one.
Figure $500 min for the 175 being you can not buy one for less at HF.

I paid 750 for my 175 last year. It came available to me, and picked it up. It is transformer based(I think), so I am confident that it will still be working 30 years from now. I would have liked to get a newer inverter based welder, but I don’t use it enough to feel it will pay for itself and do not think the electronics will last 30 years.
The 300 will be a great deal at $500, still good at 1200, if you have a need for it. Sent from my iPhone using ShopFloorTalk
