At 3:45 yesterday afternoon, I informed the honorable Earl of Wanzer (Norm), he had until 6 pm to post a thread about the new welder, or I would do it. Along with my threat to shame him ruthlessly, for his lack of SFT esprit de corps, being a buffoon player and owning an inoperable Oliver tractor. He beat the time deadline by 1 hour 3 minutes, but like a 8th grader, who writes his book report during lunch, a somewhat viable effort, but not “A” material, this effort was a “B-“, short, broached the required subject, but lacking ultimate effort, proven by the lack of any kind of photo, or even a viable link. <sigh, Damn kids> Probably due to the daily lack of MSG, we had gone to the Chinese buffet the day before, not the day of the purchase.

Usually there is a picture posted by the GNAP, even when I had no idea he took it. These "confusers" are not one of my areas of expertise. My son went to college for that, so I try to get my money's worth out of that tuition. I'm still waiting for an up date on this box of rocks. Unfortunately, he is in the process of selling one house, moving to a new house, and arranging a wedding. He isn't making the decisions, the future bride is. His job is to carry out orders. So now isn't the time to ask for an upgrade. The GNAP and I have done some work at the new house, so he (GNAP) is aware of the situation. Add to that trying to figure out how to get my butt to Texas for the Texas Band Masters Conference (driving with the instruments that won't fit on a plane) and getting back in time for the Pageant of Steam, my mind is on sensory over-load. Norm, you and the GNAP seem to have a wonderful--if not colourful--relationship but I do think it would be fun to be a fly on the wall sometimes when you two are "consorting". There are probably some "memorable" conversations...

Norm bought the welder for the $229.99, with the inner circle coupon in the July catalog, using my membership, I tried to get get an additional discount, claiming Norm was also a blind, crippled, Black nun, but they were not sure if he was truly blind, so no additional discount, if nothing else the discount covered the sales tax.

Was in the nearest harbor freight store today to pick up an electric pole saw. While I was there I checked out their vulcan and titanium line of welders. That titanium stick welder looks fairly neat. If I had a need for one, or a need for one in the future I would most likely purchase one. Waiting for a more detail report on how this welder really performs.
