From what he told me, you have 15min once the flag is tripped. He'll then get on a four wheeler/snowmobile to go check them. I'm not going to question the ethics of unattended fishing. I'm just the OEM manufacturer and he's then end user; what he does with it is his business.

Fair point. I guess I just think of fishing as a sport and it doesn't seem very "sportsmanlike" to be sittin' by the fireplace waitin' for the bell to go off...

I don't have feelings either way on the subject, but I would say that your average ice fisherman, at least around here, just uses the sport as an excuse to sit in a heated tent, drink beer, and play cards. The whole sport, doesn't seem to me anyways, to be very "sportsmanlike". I harbor no ill will to those that do, that's just my take away.

In Mn if I remember, right an unattended line is one more than 50 feet away. I don't know if your DNR is as big of a$$holes as ours.Good Luck!

Well I think it needs a touch screen of at least the 7 inch variety so you can order the beer and have it delivered and such.

I got nothing on this so far other than to know it is here.

Have you ever gone ice fishing, Keith?
The fish are warm, and your ass is frozen solid. The maggots you are using for bait will freeze solid, and break in half when you try to put them on the hook. A lot of dedicated ice fisherman carry them in their bottom lip like a chew of snoose. First time (and last) I went ice fishing, a woman came over to buddy and asked if he had some unfrozen bait. He pulled two maggots out of his lower lip and she painted the ice with lunch and beer right there.

Had to wait 5 minutes for that to freeze.
I used to set out night lines for ling cod, that's my kind of ice fishing.
