Default Newish 3" Pneumatic Cut-Off Tool

Tonight a friend called to have me plasma cut a 3/8" plate into a couple of motor mounts plates for his '68 Camaro drag car (twin turboed Buick V-6 with a Lenco). He came down with the template and I cut them out, drilled the holes and finished the plate edges on the high speed belt grinder. He does a lot for me, so my cost to him was a six-pack of Mt Dew Code Red. As he was leaving he wanted to know if I wanted a couple of broken 3" pneumatic cut-off tools, I said sure. He handed me a Husky cut of tool that wouldn't shut off and one of the angle adjustable cut-off tools from Mac Tools, that was very sluggish. I disassembled both of them did a complete cleaning and reassembled, on the Husky the on-off plunger was stuck and on the Mac, the turbine vanes were covered in gunk. Both of them now scream.

The head on the Mac, locks either up or down 22-1/2 degrees or straight, what allows the drive mechanism to angle like that is a heavy duty speedometer type cable, that drive the cutter wheel. I alway felt the cable while allowing the head to flex, was really the weak point in the design. I had one that was lost/stolen about 10-12 years ago, never used the angle feature enough to warrant buying another one. With the cost of the one in the link posted below, I surely wouldn't buy another one, the one I originally bought was a little over $100 back then.
