Is there a good sub for Hy-tran ultra...

I looked around some and Mystik JT-5 replaces it according to a couple posts. What the hell do I know about lubes.

Mystik JT-5 in both the trans and hydraulic systems, and your tractor will be happy.

Hytran Ultra is $100 a pail. (Viscosity Oil Company, toll blender for Case IH)
JT-5 is $55 a pail, and is likely a better product (CITGO)

Send me the difference as a consultation fee...

Ron, wouldn't the 303 fluid meet the original specs? I'm kinda thinking that about damn near anything would be fine in his old cub.

If you could get 'real' 303, yes, I would agree in the hydraulics;
but not in the transmission. With the JT-5 or any current spec.
fluid is overkill for his machine.

One potential problem with a 303 fluid today is the specification
is self certifying and obsolete. So a less than honest company
could be selling line wash and call it a 303 fluid, and nobody will
call them on it.

JT-5 will save him money and he will be able to sleep well at
night.
