Default I gave into temptation!

After watching all these threads about TIG welding I've gotten the itch to try it too. My kids and I were in the pawn shop a few weeks ago and saw a TIG torch hanging on the end of a shelf. It is a weldcraft WP17V with 12' hose, power adapter, and a short piece of cable to go to the welder. Then we looked for a regulator the on we found had the low pressure guage blown but no big deal I've got one. Then I noticed a Makita 9" but no guard oh well I can make one. A good day of pillaging.
Yesterday I sent my mrs. to Linweld to pickup a bottle of argon and she brought home a (I believe it is got to look at the paper work agian) 250cf bottle and a 50 pound box of 3/32 esab 7018 rod. $250 for the full bottle (title will come in the mail) and $25 for the rod (the box is beat up).
Tonight I got everything hooked up and gave it a try. I need to cut back on the caffene way too shaky of hands. I did learn what happens when you dip the tungsten, not pretty. I messed with it for about 2 hours and had to grind the tungsten 3 times. Pics tomorrow!
