Been fabricatin' my fish chaser. Will run a hundred ft tether, live feed and action cam. Fancy sonar just tells there's fish below, rov will tell what kind.

How do I post an in the water video from my computer? Underwater video has to be edited for just a short clip. Old guy computer syndrome.

There are probably better ways but you could post it to YouTube and then post a link to it...I have no idea otherwise.
Maybe the site Empress would be able to help?

That is a neat looking device, it's probably a lot of fun looking at stuff down there and not being in dive gear while doing so. ...

A watching fish underwater story.

When the underwater cameras first came on the market I was working at the Bass Pro in Gurnee, IL. (Not too far from Lake Michigan)
They were priced in the $1,000 range at that time.

A guy came in and asked if he could put one on the weight line and aim it at the bait.

(For those who don’t know, deep water trolling is done with 2 lines. One only has a weight from 3 to 10 lbs. on it. The hook goes on a second line attached to the weight line with a closes pin type clamp so that the bait trails behind the weight apx. 10 feet. When the fish hits the bait the lines separate and the weight line is cranked up so the hook line doesn’t tangle with it during the fight.)

I told him he would have to change the fins and attachment point around since the camera was designed to point forward and he was going to be aiming backward.

He didn’t seem concerned about that and bought one.
About 4 or 5 weeks later he was back in the store and I asked him how the camera worked out.

“It worked great! I used it on two outings, and I will never do it again!”

“Never again? Why?”

“Well the thing it shows you is that lures work. But just because they attract the fish doesn’t mean the fish will bite. I could see the fish come at the lure and I would get ready for a bite, but all they would do is nose bump the lure and peel off. I have never been so frustrated in my life.”

“So, what did you do with the camera?”

“I strapped to the post on my pier at home and the grandkids watch the fish on it.”

Got some pretty nice video from both cams at 45 ft. Lots of silt when the thrusters are activated. Quite dark at that depth in the lake where I am. Super interesting to watch on a larger screen, haven't seen the target species yet. Needs a compass so I know where it's going. Trying to figure a way of posting, photobucket doesn't like the video format.

You can move the video to Dropbox, then access it to post via "Attachments".
