DRO, 2 Axis or 3 Axis?

I do not think that the supplied arm is going to be long enough for my installation. So I will most likely have to build an arm to mount it on.
The glass scale for X will be a pain to mount on the front of the table, the back of the table would be much easier. But takes away some of the travel of the Y axis.
The mounting of the glass scale for the Y axis looks to be pretty straight forward. So I will tackle the mounting of this scale first to help with the learning curve.
I intend to start on this as soon as the Steady rest is finished. I am going to have to order some metric taps for this job.

Jim, I was thinking about doing that, It would make the installation procedure easier to follow.

That would be great! That was a "two birds with one stone comment" because I really want to see the install and it does make it more topic appropriate and easier to search for own the road when people are looking for information.
