1300 HP car, a sticking throttle and hot brakes and nobody thinks it's time to pull over and figure out what's wrong...

Nobody thought to turn off the engine? He didn't have a clutch to step on, so why didn't he put it in neutral? With any rear wheel drive car in high idle, (cold engine) on a slippery road, when coming to a stop sign, put it in neutral!!! If you don't, the front wheels lock and the rear ones push you through the stop. These fellows probably have never driven on ice, or had a throttle stick open. Probably more money than brains or experience.

play stupid games....
one of the comments on one of the followup videos: if the throttle was sticking on my 130hp grocery getter I wouldnt drive it. Sums it all up. The brakes are undersized for the size and power of the vehicle for sure, but all better brakes would have done is taken a bit longer to boil. |

That did not seem to work. I'd have shut down the engine. But I'd never want to drive anything with a stuck throttle. He was ok with it.

There was a lot of little errors in that video that is real easy for us to Monday morning quarterback, and critique.
Bottom line, the owner messed up totally in several things. If he truly did build the car himself over 20 years, 200,000, and 2 marriages, he must not have had much experience driving something that bad ass. He must not have had any other experiences with close calls that gave him the common sense of what to do instinctively in that situation. ( 1st one would be to not drive it period). But, hopefully by then putting that video out, they might just save another clueless guy from doing the same thing and actually killing an innocent person. Luckily that didn’t happen this time. Does anyone think he had insurance and that it would cover anything in that accident? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Since it's in the States and you guys are lawsuit crazy anyway what are the chances that the passenger gets hit with a lawsuit for not seeing the problem and calling the whole thing off before something bad happened? I wonder if he's even got insurance that would cover that kind of thing? The fact that he knew the throttle was sticking and that the brakes were being ridden hard and were burning up could very well make him culpable to some extent...
