Hmmmm. I don't think Chris is ready for this. I may not be either. 25 isn't a big deal. It is only 864 sf. Using nothing but the big machine, it will be a snap. I will just be getting into a good rhythm when I will run out of slab. You gotta remember these machines will do the work of 10-12 men finishing. That is a lot. The only hand work we will be doing is around the edges...dat is it. The machine will do the rest. I like it like that. The "by hand only" stuff bites on something this size......although it can be done .

Update....all is still on track, and I have no idea why. It almost fell apart today.

I have had two groups of finishers back out already. The first one got a raw deal on a slab for Friday that they can not get out of. They are going to get beat up pretty badly, I'm afraid. Huge pour with no help. I almost wish I could help them out, but their higher ups don't want me around...long story I will not go into....suffice to say, I will not be helping them out, even though I would like to. It is always good to show the higher ups and pencil pushers they are idiots and do NOT know what the heck they are doing....to their faces. We have done close to several million feet together, but no longer. I keep trying to get them to retire from this bunch......maybe they will one day. Hopefully before they are killed by the asinine higher up idiocity.

The second was a group of one. He has an impending death in the family. I've known this was coming for over a year. Bad timing for him. Hope it turns out for the best for him and his family.

I am now using my regular finishing crew....that I have to pay. So much for saving money. They won't back out. Money is money and they will do what they have to do to get it. Plus, I use them all the time and they don't want to mess that up.........which means I am now safe in the finish dept. They are actually better than the first ones anyway. I poured with them today, too. Perfect results as always.

So, with the finishers secured, I am now ready. I still have a little work to do.....cleaning, moving stuff around and the weld plates.....but that will be taken care of tomorrow. Concrete is set for 1pm......which translates to 2pm if I am lucky. That will put my finish time from midnight to 2am........yuck!

I think it's always better to have them back out now, instead of when the
trucks are one their way.

Uh Don - any chance you could set us up a webcam? You know, so we could all watch the pour?
