What is it going to do? Special Tool Fab...

Needed to make a tool. I thought I'd see if anyone can figure out what it is for. I'll give it a day for wrong guesses or correct answers then update. HINT: automotive-related...

Started with a piece of 2"x1"x1/8" rect. tube steel from the scrap pile. About 9"--I didn't measure it. Didn't bother cutting it either, just cleaned up the "end" end so it wasn't sharp from the steel mill. The other end drilled and cut as shown. I had to cut a little more off after fitting. Then hit it with the flap disk.

Broke out the scratch TIG TA95 Lunchbox. #17 torch. Easier than the MM140 as the C25 was buried behind some tires. The Ar40 was just under the bench. In the middle of about 20 projects so didn't even clean off the bench to do it... Took longer to setup (2min?) than to do the 2 tacks. Longer bolt holding the nut in place.

Little welder works good. Decent for stick, as well. Highly recommended if you see one used for $200 or less.

I'll update in a day or so...

I am assuming it is going to press something out, in, on, or off... possibly that. Or, it's a really odd can opener

It is a wiper arm removal tool. I have a "special" tool from one of the trucks but only succeeded in bending it. Wiggled and rocked and twisted and tapped but the arm still wouldn't come off. Needed to remove arms to get the cowl cover off.

The 3rd picture is staged after because I forgot to take a pic of the tool in place but the order is correct. Note the cowl cover has been cleaned and treated--no more nuts and berries...

Last pic=success! Turned bolt about 3/4 turn and "tink", off came the arm!

Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

I guess I weren't too far off other than maybe the can opener
I'll have to remember that one for when I come across a stubborn wiper arm
Very good tool idea not to mention it's basic and simple providing one would have the other tools to make one...

I meant to point out how I had a nice "pointy" bolt already to use as the pusher... Metric bolt for a metric car!
