He overloaded me in about 28 seconds. I was forced to shut him down to save my sanity and vow to never even think about the purchase of a 3D printer.

I forgot to mention that he is crazy. I kept the pause button close at hand while watching.
It might be easier to watch in slow speed. |

I can't stand a-holes that use more "Facetime" on a Utube than the subject matter. :-(

I like his sense of humor. He reminds me of one of my kids.

You may have pushed me over the edge into buying a 3d printer...

I saw a guy on YouTube that had a 3-D printer big enough to do an entire car chassis. They printed one up and bolted some parts on it and drove it around.
But I don’t have much use for a tiny desktop size manufacturing device that prints things out of plastic. I don’t wanna spend the rest of my life becoming organized. But it is an amazing technology, and one that I long knew was coming. I started programming machines to do things back in the early 1970s. |

full sized pieces actually used as fixtures. One metal tool part cost over $120 and 6 week lead time, now the service squirts one out for under $20 overnight from plastic, and I can use different colors too. |

A friend of mine has a very upgraded hobby machine. It's nice to have access to but leaves a bit to be desired occasionally. I experimented with it for a while and decided it was just too much effort.
I'm okay with drawing up my part, sending him the STL file, and being on my way. A couple days later he gets it to me and I redesign or use what he made. It's handy. He makes a killing off the thing locally. His "big" seller is custom shaped cookie cutters for all the home based bakers/decorators. A couple of them have progressed into having their own shops just because of the availability of his printed cutters. When you can make things that others can't it really does draw a crowd. |
