Take this wheel to someone who can weld or braze the busted wheel together. If you are worried about run out, don't be. 30-60 thou, not going to affect it. If you take it to someone who tells you it can't be welded, drive on to the next one. Cast can be welded after you clean off the fucking JB. A couple of sticks of 1/8" NiRod at 90 amps should do fine.
Clean up and measure your shaft, and have some one with an expanding reamer clean up the bore to a tight sliding fit.
If you had die grinder with a small flap wheel you could have polished up the inside of the bore. IIRC, that bore is about 20mm, you can grind a 1" flap wheel down to size against a grindstone with the die grinder running.

Do you have a scrap metal bin? gather up all your hammers and throw them in to the bin, this will save you money and time.

JB has its uses but not for stressed metal parts... Clean the JB weld off to save money at the welder's. You should probably eye the blade driving surface of the wheel while you spin it to assure it is concentric before you have it welded. If you bent/tweaked it when you pulled it off, I would start looking for a replacement. It is likely to throw blades if it is warped...

For the next time...

I made up the bottom half of this puller last week to pull a cooler pulley. The top half is a steering wheel puller I made 40 yrs ago in a machine shop class.

The bottom is torch cut 3/8" plate with 3 holes D&T for 5/16-18 bolts. Had to add extra holes in the steering wheel puller to match the spread of the lower bolts.

Where can I buy NiRod in Canada? I searched amazon and homedepot etc no luck.

Seems it's almost fixed though. I'll never give up. I'll break every last piece of this saw trying to fix it

No way, the JB has to fail on its own. If the JB cracks its just another fail for the thread (I'm collecting them). Then I can try brazing it, once that fails I'll make a brace / bracket.

It does have some very slight warping. Needed to clamp the part to make it flush. Lets see how it turns out.

Really nice job! I'll make something similar soon. All I have at the moment is jaw pullers, would be good to have some options.

damn its all warped. not sure if it's ruined from tension of the puller or if I just misaligned it while repairing it. I perfectly lined up the top break but the 2nd break was really hard to line up.

I think I'm gonna take one more crack at JB welding that 2nd break. if I can leave the top secured and re-align it that might work.. good chance I need to buy a new wheel but there's still some hope. fuck what a mistake.

Thanks good find! It's actually part 71 I need though, 77 is the other wheel. I'll order it tomorrow if the fix doesn't work. Its worth a shot.
