I had ordered the thin white faced roll insulation. With the way help and work and the weather has gone I'm looking very hard at going with spray foam.

Minus some ridge cap I'm 1/4 a way through the roofing part. I'm held up by missing some parts to complete the roof. There's a piece of 3x5 angle that runs down each eave of the building. It never shipped nor made it on the truck. No idea it was missing till I went to put the roof on. The 3x5 angle I have up now is supposed to be on my gables.

Progress pictures.

The tin is not blue. Just the reflection.
Not bad for doing most of it solo.

Have you priced spray foam?
I would wait and get the thin roll insulation coming.
But,great job, doing that metal is tough by yourself.

Way to go Tim, I am so excited for you..

It funny in a not so funny way. that you too are having a hard time with finding help..

I think it's awesome what you are doing and wish I was closer and not knee deep in my own project.

I liked the suggestion of an SFT builders group.

The biggest issue getting help has been getting schedules to line up.

At work things are slow so it's been easy for me to take off.

The stress is real with this undertaking.

My mom asked me last night, "How does it feel to wear the different hats developing a piece of property?"

Stressful, but rewarding.

Just keep on truckin and when you turn the key and lock the door for the first time, well now, that's a feeling.

On the 2nd house i built i was bitching to the drywall guy about how slow it was getting anything done.
Wait on this guy, wait on that guy, wait on the inspector, wait, wait, wait.
He calmly said "hell,in a few weeks you will be sitting in there watching TV and it will all be over".
I guess he was right, but it still seems like it takes the "hired help" a long time to get going.

In Tims case,i suspect hes the motivated one,and his friends are not motivated at all.

I think the age group may have something to do with it.
My first house was built on the weekends by myself and my buddys,my first shop was the same way.

It's really a schedule issue for getting help.

Today I used a guy suggested toe that is a experienced roofer. Got a lot knocked out. Almost 3/4 of the roof is down.
