Are you sure you have the plug wires on the correct plugs? Not saying you wouldn't have checked that, but I've seen it enough times.

Yep Harley dealer says it's the throttle body needs cleaning and a new fuel pump so I picked up a rebuild kit
and Got a guy who is interested in swapping out all the fuel injection to his bike from mine which means oil pump lower plate and a few other things and put his carburated stuff on mine but if this kit and pump work and solve the problem
I'll prolly just leave it alone and deal with the gizzard shaker.

One of my friends burned a piston many years ago when he got the plug wires switched when he worked on it. I believe illicit pharmaceuticals were involved. I don't recall having a fuel pump on mine, but it was a '68, so I guess gravity feed. Fuel pumps are for injected engines,right? I sold it in '72 not long before I joined the Navy.

Yes this bike is fuel injected with a stage 3 screaming eagle kit and SE tuner
I went through the throttle body today runs much better but still will not idle
I have new fresh premium fuel new iridium plugs but still coughs and dies at idle but on road runs fine until you low down to come to a stop and sort of sluggish in a sense... when trying to take back off but picks up and runs good once you get past that little spot in the throttle but in town that will attract the attention of red and blue lights due to the pipes being so dang loud

if it were running right it prolly would not be so loud other than take off
I'm thinking right now I have two options let the HD dealer just fix it and all the crap they say it will need we know it won't need par for the dealers to do that shit... Or sell this one to my brother and then go buy me this 1340 lowrider I've had my eye on for a little while a guy is offering to me.

sort of in a funk of which way to go on this thing. undecided for sure

Well, the Harley Dealer is coming out tomorrow to pick the bike up and take it to the shop to get it fixed free pick up and free delivery if I let them do the work...
I figure its better if they do it and I can worry about other important stuff that needs doing... plus they are pretty sure they think they know what's wrong with it and gave me a solid cost of parts and labor I can live with...

What is odd is the HD dealership that is closer to me was double the cost and no free pick up or delivery and the other one that is close to 65 miles from me is going out of their way to make a customer happy which has always been the case with this one I've had a few things done by them and have always been good to me and it seems they still are... but I have spent a bit of money with them over the last 12 years.

I try to do business with the one more local to me but seems the cost is much higher every time I do try to go to them for service an parts.

There are still businesses that care and charge reasonable rate . I am so out of touch with shop prices I always wonder if I am treated fair or not .

I think I would guard my money for a while, if I were you.
Your neighbor, the asshole, still has a swimming pool. And you will still have to deal with more flooding and the leveling issues involved, unless you take legal action. And that costs, too.
If you fix this one and ride it your costs are less.

Well, I decided this morning to just get it fixed HD dealer picked it up this morning and away it went on their trailer... they said they would have it ready tomorrow but I added extra work to the labor invoice for them to do to it
so between Wednesday and Friday, I'll get it back... plus had them order a lowering kit for it... might call em and have them install it for me but its not that hard to do my self just helped a buddy install a front and rear lowering kit on his Sportster a week or so ago and once that has been done I'll be all set

Not hijacking, just adding to a cool thread title "little shop time" Seems like a good place to post fast projects ......

My quickly is fix/modifying a crappy cart. Anyone have one of these gas welding crappy carts knows the down side.

I started on it because, it has no clearance off the deck what moving it. So bad it cannot roll over an air hose.

In the process of removing the tanks, the balance is so screwed. The cart fell backwards to the floor, just missing a door on the 32truck.

Modes moved wheels 3'' aft, changing the pivot point. This increased the clearance, off the deck of the rear edge of tank platform. Larger wheels, mostly decorative.

Generally stiffened and welded any flex points.

Anyway here is the crappy cart before and after shots, painting it today.
