Default Angle Grinders: Corded vs Cordless vs pneumatic

Just a hunch but I'm guessing this crowd is mostly fans of the corded variety. But if anyone is a fan of cordless and/or pneumatic, I'd like to hear about the units you use and how you like and/or dislike them.

I myself have all 3. Naturally, like the rest of you, I acquired corded grinders earlier on, but have since grown to like cordless and especially pneumatic. My corded grinders are cheap Ryobi's rat-tails that are relatively low-powered, but have withstood good use. My cordless are harbor freight Earthquake's that I purchased cheap when my local store was phasing them out when they were discontinued, and I have tons of pneumatics from 3" adjustable speed angled die grinders, to 7" economy grinders I got from Ebay.

I have some 7" fence post drivers, or 1 ton grinders, but use them so little that I have tried to give them away.
I have a cordless grinder, but good as it is, battery life is short and recharge is long. Sort of like a EV. I have found that it's use is as a cut off. With a .049 disc it is a very useful tool.

My main go to grinders are corded Milwaukee 4 and 5 inch grinders. They will get the job done quickly.

I have used pneumatic's, they have little torque and need to be kept at higher rpm than electric corded. Generating compressed air is costly and not a good way to go. Die grinders are the exception, they are very useful in some applications.

Similar here, my actual grinders are a 4.5” makita, several 5 and 6” grinders of various makes, a couple big old 7/9” black and deckers with the all metal bodies that I rarely use.

No pneumatic angle grinders, I’ve got rid of any I’ve ever been given without even trying them.

1/8” and 1/4” die grinders, likely have close to a dozen, some of my jobs in the past these were the tools in hand sometimes an entire day or more at a time.

There’s also some bench grinders, and a surface grinder in the mix of ‘grinders’. Again, depending on the day the surface grinder can be in use for hours at a time.

Yep, corded electric here. I burned up 3 DeWalts early on, but I was buying them below wholesale cost so it wasn't too terrible. Even saving a bunch of money at the time got old when the tool broke mid job.

The dream was to go for the Metabo units, but I never made it that far. Now I don't know that I'd trust them since they realigned with the Hitachi group. I broke a gear out of a Hitachi one about a week into it's use as a replacement for one of the DeWalts.

I swapped to Makita and had both a button and a paddle style. The button one got stolen, never cared much for the paddle. Tractor Supply had a sale on a Porter Cable one afternoon so I grabbed it, and it's now the go-to machine. However my needs for the things have declined tremendously and I think I've used it twice since taking it out of the box.

I do have an old Ryobi unit that I put a twisted wire wheel on one afternoon and have yet to be able to break it back loose--so when I need the wire brush I grab it. One of these days maybe I can see if it's useful for something else.

I've had a number of pneumatic die grinders through the years as well, but mostly I just use my dremel these days. The projects I take on any more are light enough that it gets the job done just fine.

No, you read that out of context, likely on purpose for some unknown reason. Pretty much everyone else understood exactly what I was talking about and replied accordingly. You on the other hand.....

I have probably at least dozen grinders. Several 1/4” pneumatic air die grinders.

No bigger pneumatic air grinders, other than a DA sander.

I have one cordless grinder, 4”. I bought it to go with current drill and battery I had, but went for the value dollar line. It is a porter cable. I also bought a 1/2” impact for this line too.
It is handy for when I need to do a quick job, that one battery can do.

Other than that, I have several grinders, each with dedicated wheel setups. Cutoff Metabo 6”, and various hard wheel, buffing pad, flap disc., wire wheel, etc Only change when they wear out.

Looks like you're not an anything reader. So that makes you the idiot by my perspective. So just go ahead and F-off and go prance around somewhere else

Thank you to those that actually answered in the spirit of having a discussion.
