Still working on making the stand, but the tables are done. I have about ±0.008 per 12" on the diagonal, which was the worse offender; there were two "bumps" that were quite difficult to get minimize. Along the 4ft lengths, it is better than that, and the short 3ft sides even better, by about 0.001" less. Better than the manufacturer spec of 0.015" per 12". I only tacked the slats on the underside (along the entire lengths), not the top where the tab-and-slot meet. I didn't want to risk having those warp it since I'm satisfied with how the flatness turned out.

Looks good! most steel you will be using will not be that flat or straight.

Thanks. The actual flatness could be worse or better, because the cheapie straight edge I ordered from Amazon, as nice as it looks, is flat to ± 0.003" over it's 50" length. In any event, I'm happy the way it turned out. Now my other project this turned into is fabricating the stand for it. I am not willing to give up 24 ft² of floor space using both of those tables side-by-side, so I'm scheming a rolling stand that will allow for me to rotate the table twice, once in the Y-Z plane to make it vertical, and then once in the X-Z plane to have the long side, the 6ft length go vertical. That way it only uses up a 4ft x 2 ft area on the floor based on the stand I plan to build.

I got some Skelang 1100lb leveling casters that will handle the support at the floor level.

Two items.

1. do you have a link for those casters?

2. please do not host your pictures off SFT servers. Please attach them to
your post. The reason for this is in the past we have lost a lot of content
when various free services go paid and when members delete photos not
realizing or caring they are effect the content here.

Also some of us have slow internet and it makes the threads load really slow.

2. Now I remember why I didn't frequent this forum for some time. I was hoping that rule was no longer. I guess not.

Having been here through the years, it’s nice to be able to look through old threads, and still have the pictures. I don’t use many other forums like I used to, mostly because I don’t like the moderation (there’s none here) and it’s too common to look at a thread and most of the pics don’t exist anymore.

I find the posting of pics here very easy because of the setup. What it does make difficult is the ‘cut and paste’ of a thread on multiple sites.

Thanks for the link, I put those in 'save for later', for a future project...

More of a request/guideline than a rule. It's not like we are going to ban you
for not doing it. But I have frustration when I am on other forums looking up
info and get what would have been a great thread and all the pictures are gone.
And then you cannot get all the information because a picture is worth a
thousand words. I do understand it is an extra step and can be a bit of
a PITA. But the effort is appreciated.

Well if it makes anybody feel better, my pics are stored on Google and they're not going away anytime soon. I pay only $1.99/month for my Google domain/email/storage. If I ever cannot afford that, then I'm in serious trouble because I spend at least $250 a month at Hooters
