I have used Vaseline on a food grinder gears. Lasted for 10 years and was running good when we sold it. Cheap too.

I recall seeing it listed as "Edible Grease", I think for soft serve machines.

Vaseline is an option, but if it gets too warm it can run out and leave the gears
dry and unprotected, whereas a proper grease will stay where it is needed.

It does appear that the Super Lube product sold at HF is NSF H1 listed.
Not all Super Lube Products are NSF H1.

So double check when you buy it it should have the NSF label/logo on
the back of the tube.

FYI, the FDA no longer does this it was turned over to NSF a few years
ago.

H1 is the food grade listing you want...
