Tackit, you don't have a shoulder, so you can not use wedges to remove it. From the link above. Quote:
drill a pilot hole through the center of the chuck and drive the arbor out.

It really isn't difficult to do & doesn't hurt the chuck. Once you drill through the top of the chuck the arbor should pop right out with a punch.

Thanks fellas, I learn something new everyday around here. OK, tomorrow I'll drill a hole down the center of the chuck and use a suitable size pin punch to force the arbor out. My hip went out this afternoon or I would have done it already. I must have been sitting on it wrong again, it feels like a nail gun shot to the hip when I get up from the chair or move a certain way.

I made my own out of CRS. They have worked fine for several chucks.

Randy I was tempted to open up the #2 wedges on the mill to fit my arbor, but after learning my chuck doesn't have a proper shoulder to use wedges I'm going to pass on the idea.

It is the arbor that needs the shoulder.

Check the size 6 . The numbers DON'T go by size. We have a "set" of 1,2,3,6 at school and the number has nothing to do with the size. :-)

Okay then, how about opening up the chuck jaws and drill a 1/4 "-5/16" hole through the bottom of the chuck. Then with an appropriate drift press or hammer out the arbor. A little Kroll or penetrating oil wouldn't hurt. Should have no negative effect on the chuck.
