It's media induced all right; the media selected their undocumented communist candidate and rolled him all the way into the White House.

You're witnessing the death of private enterprise in the good old USA.

Being that I changed career directions this year, I really have nothing to compare too. As to the current times though, I know I have to pay my bills, so I keep working. I keep having people inquire about work for them, so as long as that happens, I don't care, nor pay attention to the economy.

A lot of what goes on is media and mindset, but until the media pays me, or my bills, I can't pay attention to it.

I really seriously doubt that. Last time I checked....my 3 friends all still own their own buisness.

It's third party financing, if they don't pay their truck gets repo'ed. No discount on my invoice at all, check the same day.
I have two large jobs in the shop right now, and as soon as they are completed. check hand delivered.

Were going to the big shop due to the rent being the same, I am taking half and my neighbour who is a painter is taking the other half. I will run the shop, and he will do outside sales. It should work out, as I don't want to paint and he can't do the work that I do, they go hand in hand.

I am figuring this recession will be very bad. But due to credit being hard to get, firms will repair what they have keeping guys like me working. Might not make alot of money, but hopefully will survive. I also believe that small shops that are diverse enough will survive as well.

But who knows, it seems every day, the economic outlook is getting bleaker and bleaker.

I am not sure this is a rule, just my experience. There are only two times that a partnership with a friend is not a good deal. 1. when you are making a lot of money. 2. when you are losing a lot of money.

No partnership, two separate business that contract back and forth.

The slowdown actually started in California, almost two years ago. Saw it coming, clamped down on expenses. Commercial stuff is almost dead, most guys are just parking broken equipment they can't keep busy anyway, if you have 5 backhoes, don't worry about fixing them until you're down to the last one. Farm-related is still holding up, grape prices, walnut prices, most fruits, alfalfa hay, still strong. That's been feeding me the last couple years, but not a whole lot left over. As other guys go out of business, I've been picking up the slack here and there.

Anybody hear yet, where to sign up for this wealth redistribution deal???? I can use some ......
