Default 1/2" Plate table tops in Dallas area

If anyones around Dallas, I saw a listing for 1/2" plate pieces that would make some nice welding table tops.
They state that the pieces are slightly over 4' x 4' torch cut to allow a clean 4'x4' plate. Price was $65. They had 20 available.
It was on the Dallas craigslist.
Not positive of prices on 1/2" plate, but if I was closer I think I'd grab a couple. I'm sure somebody here will know if its a good buy or not.

I posted that craigslist post.

I went in to buy some plate to build a couple welding tables for a friend and ended up getting hired. I REALLY needed a job and it worked out great.

The plate is the walls, floor and ceiling of a bank vault. All the pieces so far have been good and flat. They were cut by torch a little over 4'X4'. The ones I got were 4'3" square.

It is a really good buy as far as compared to new 1/2" plate. These have a few spots with rivets in them for mounting the interior walls but you can just grind them off and weld over them and grind flat. Not a big deal at all.

Bob was nice enough to deliver a couple of those plates to me in Ft. Worth. The pieces I got were just as described, little over 4 square ft and pretty flat.

Thanks again Bob

that's a steal for steel as long as it's not stolen LOL.

4'X4' would cost right arround $190 new.
