I have been looking at the models suggested as well as the ESAB and the new Miller infinity. I have discovered that replacement lens cost needs to be a factor in the decision. I can re lens my current hood for a buck or two. The ESAB hood replace net lens, inner and outer, is about $40. Optrel wasn’t far behind at $30. Speedglas appears to be $20 for the outer. These all appear to be single lens per package price, but it isn’t real clear.
I was also looking at weight, and that isn’t listed for a lot of them. The miller Infinity comes in at 23 oz, the Elite ar 18 oz, ESAB 23 oz, optrel at 20 oz, Speedglas is not listed. I suspect that I am going to have to go to the LWS and try some on next.

Good points at checking lenses costs, and weight. I remember back years ago when I was at a factory and I was welding 6 hours + a day, the company told me to go pick out a new helmet. So I did. It was a couple ounces heavier than my speedglas and my neck started hurting after a week. I then switched back to my own helmet if I was welding for a long time. If I only had to weld about 30 minutes, the heavy helmet was not that bad.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 weighs 18 oz, costs $76; bought it as a backup/teaching hood (grandkids), ended up using it more than my Jackson. Bit lighter, see better, wider shade range than the Jackson... Steve

I picked up a very lightly used Esab Sentinal a few months ago. Have only used it a couple times, but pretty impressed so far.

Speedglas 900x for at least 10 years with zero issues. Just bought (10) 3M-branded outside lenses for $26 total online. Didn't realize how scratched up the lense was until I replaced it. WOW!

Mrs Rusty and Rustyjr got me the new top of the line Lincoln for Christmas.
I have to say WOW, and I highly recommend it. Once you get the headgear set its fantastic and light!
