I don't remember them vacuuming the cylinders, but they may have, irt was not my job.
But whatever they did they did it fast, they pumped hundreds of cylinders everyday.
I guess they pumped 50 or 100 cylinders at a time, roll them in,hook them up and pump, while that line was pumping they scraped and painted and changed valves and neck rings etc.
It was a busy place.
When they pumped a mix gas some had to be rolled to mix the gas, they laid the cylinders down on a roller and power rolled them.

Co2 was done on a scale,like LPG.
We pumped argon,Co2,oxygen,nitrogen,helium and then the mixed gases.
When i went to work there they were opening and closing every valve by hand.
when you pumped each cylinder had 2 valves to open close,1 on the cylinder, one on the pig tail.
thats 2 valves per cylinder, each opened and closed for every cylinder.
I made up some sockets that would fit the hand wheels and bought a dozen air ratchets and plumbed the air lines into the nitrogen line, they used the air ratchets to open and close the valves after that.
Talk about saving time and arms, wow.

Ya know out of all my years I've never had that water issue with one of my bottles "Yet!" Not to say it can't happen but so far haven't experienced the issue some of you have.
