Default diesel/gas

The missus fueled up the truck this morning and mistakenly put in 1 1/2 gallons of gas before she realized her mistake. Then she added 20 gallons of diesel. I am guessing there was 10 gallons of diesel in the tank before this all happened.

So m my question is can I drain the tank using the lift pump with the fuel filter removed to empty the tank, then put in a new fuel filter and start it up and let just idle to push the rest of the fuel through without bleeding the injectors and the Injector pump?

Just got off the phone with Neal (SmokinDodgy) if you are worried at all about lubricity add 8 ounces of 2-stoke oil to boost lubricity for the injectors.

That little amount of gas wont even effect your mileage.

Tell Niel thanks for the advice on the 2 stroke oil. Think I will head down to the station and top off the tank with diesel. That will further dilute the gas to diesel ratio.

This happens all the time with motorhomers,i have seen as much as 20 gals of gas pumped in before they realized the mistake,we just pump the rest of the tank with diesel and pour in a few gals of motor oil and away they go.
We are talking about 300 gal tanks here.

2 stroke oil is a better choice, ashless.

My calculations say it is only 3% gas.

That little bit will be fine. Hell we used to run 10% gas in construction equipment to keep it from gelling in the winter.
