Default Miller Auto Arc 50 amp ac/dc TIG welder?

anyone ever heard of such a thing? Is it worth pursuing? Local guy has one, have not been to see it yet.

50 amps... my battery charger puts out more than that...

I would have no need for it. If you are tig welding thin sheet you might be able to use it, I doubt it would even weld 14 ga. material...

Isn't the rule of thumb something like 1 amp per thousandth thickness? That would limit you to 18 gauge sheet I think
I know that can't be a hard fast rule because of all the other variables, but I'm sure I have read it somewhere.

In general yes, voltage does have some influence also.

Scrap that idea, he says it dies 1/8" and under, but I don't need a unit to weld razor blades together.
