A little repair job...............

Well after all these storms went through our area a couple of cooling towers went down at the power plant in lansing. Our company got the job of cleaning up the mess and installing temporary units until the new ones arrive. We have to have the whole mess cleaned up and the pipes capped off by sunday night so it sounds like we will be working at least 12 hours days the rest of the week. Today I started welding some 24" flanges onto some 90 degree fittings so we will be ready after we get it all cleaned up. Here is a link to the news report on it. These are the cooling towers on the Grand River?

I've waterskied on that river, and I know the water gets pretty green and mighty gross right where the cooling towers discharge back into the dam. Whenever the boat heads out towards the warm part of the river, the person on the skis gets a little worried that they are going to fall off into the algae water. Those towers were huge. Now you have your work cut out for you, or the water's going to get really green!

Yup it sure is. unfortionatly I wasn't able to work on it very much today I spent almost the whole day at Michigan State welding some anchors on a steam line that we are working on.

So they still let you work with them eh don? At Least your keeping busy, all i get are little repair jobs from around the neighborhood. It's unbelievable how many little kids need to get their trampoline frames re welded.
