Something I am unsure if I should build

I was sent some pictures today asking if I would build the steel framework for a large trampoline garden. It is apparently a recessed area covered by a trampoline and they use the underneath to grow plants of some sort. Seemed like a ridiculous waste of money, but they didn’t ask my opinion, just wether I would build it or not.
If they do actually get plans, I might chat with my insurance guy, but I cant imagine that he would say anything but run from it.
I was curious if anyone here would seriously consider building a trampoline?

That's where I would start for sure. If your insurance company says no I wouldn't touch it. One
way to reduce your risk might be to build the frame only and let them supply the springs and fabric.
Overbuild the frame and the attachment points so there's no chance of failure and if somebody else
supplies the springs and fabric and they fail you'd probably get dragged into the shit anyway but you
would have reduced exposure...

If he has any involvement in any of the project, he is going to get dragged into the possible liability and law suits to follow if something happens or someone gets injured or killed. I have spent enough years in criminal and civil courts to see how things flow and how some people get away with things and how others get screwed for no fault of their own. My wife also works for the legal dept of a major hosptial and I also see how things work there. I strongly recommend that he does not take on that project!

I would build the frame to their specs but not call it a "trampoline frame". Call it a "fern shade" or something. We had a 15' trampoline for over 10 years and never had a problem. No safety net on the side, either...

This is why slipNfalls need to be taken out behind the tool shed and tuned-up... Litigating and enabling lack of personal responsibility...

You apparently do not know how litigating works. My sister had a trampoline on her property. Some of her childrens friends came over and used it at her invite. One recieved a broken collar bone, another a broken arm. She was sued/aka/litigated and had to pay for all damages. One just needs a good attorney that can make the jury believe what the attorney wants them to believe . Like I said, you dont have a clue!
