Unfortunately THAT is exactly the point I'm at now. With the school volunteer job gone for almost 2 years now and the "Maker Space" place a big disappointment all I have left is sitting in the living room and either TV for a few football games or reading same old book (they are at least good ones) .
The temperature is way too cold to do anything in the garage/shop and to top it all off I have a Sciatica problem. So "surviving" is almost about not worth it. :-(

Surviving is always worth it. What you choose to do to survive is different for everyone. My goal is to go out kicking and screaming!!!!

Lew, I hope you were not serious. There is always something out there to captivate your interest, just have to find it. You have too much knowledge to lie down and quit.
Dogs and children are two area to explore. Cutter was kept going by his dog because they loved each other.
I hope you find your new reason to get up in the morning.

Sorry to hear about the loss of motivation Lew.

I am curious though. What is so disappointing about the local MakerSpace? I must be lucky, My local makerspace is made up of people with interests far different than mine, but all are free with their expertise and many have interests and skills that compliment my own. A few have come to me for advice or help, even after the Pandemic panic. All are supportive, even if they are not interested in another's projects.

Just to list a few of skills found in the group..... Cosplayers, computer programmers and system admins, amateur blacksmiths, electronics techs specializing in signal/control systems, carpentry, cabinetry, amateur armorer, jewelry manufacturer, CNC router guys, 3D printing, laser cutters, ceramics, baking, and my modest skills in welding, machining, and fabrication. Sadly, our local brick and mortar space is closed to us, but there are a few collaborations that have evolved out of the fellowship, and a regular weekly online meetup/BS session.
