I ordered a Chainsaw sharpener from Timberline a few years ago . It toured the western states before going to TN . Before it slowly made its way back here . !5 days in transit . At least it got to see a lot of the USA .

The splice sleeve finally arrived today, 3 days late. So back to the splitter upgrade tomorrow.

So the battery I spoke of earlier in this post - I paid $20 for 2 day shipping and got it in 6 days through USPS. I have a package I ordered yesterday, paid $13 for standard overnight through FedEx. It left Westchester, PA yesterday at about 3 p.m. It's already on the vehicle for delivery here in North Central WI.

Got the machining, drilling and welding all done on the splitter cone. Sealed the tractor end of the splines with some silicone and the roll pin holes to prevent water from running down the splines. Welded with 3/32 7018.
I was some concerned about being able to drill the splined shaft to put in a roll pin so it would not move on the splines. Turned out to be very easy. Expected it might since a file easily cleaned up the splines. Sprayed on some Rustoleum Rust Converter so it looks prettier. Used a 1/4" roll pin to secure the sleeve to the shaft. Split a log with it to test and now see it is a bit shorter than the old cone so I will need to trim off an inch of the vertical plate under the cone. That will be tomorrow.

Got the plate trimmed and upped the spin rate to 3rd gear on the tranny. Working much better. Split about 2 cords and stacked today. About 3 hours work.
