What they said ^^^^. Get an auto-dark helmet. Spend a little money for a decent one. I got a Lincoln for $125 at Home Depot. Not a bad unit. Not a SpeedGlas, either...

HF $40 specials suck--they are VERY slow to darken and only suitable for light duty MIG.

PS: added a picture. Only "issue" I've had was the dark adjustment knob is easy to bump and change settings so I just removed the knob. Can still adjust without the knob...

The Vulcan hood at HF is Miller quality and some fearures are better..
