Is that a drum brake on your rotisserie? Good piece of fabrication there, and good idea with the extend-able legs too

Rotisserie
X-ray , yes that is a brake drum , I scavenged it of a Chevy spectrum that was given me for working on the car . Used the rear brake drum and the e-brake lever from the car so you can stop the rotation any where you want . the rear spindles on on these cars bolt on flat, makes it easier to mount on the adjustable head .
hench861 it will take a couple of days for me to take one apart and measure it up , working 6 - 10's right now . Can you wait ? The real nice thing about the rotisseries is I built them with 8ton long rams on them so you can set the body on stands and bolt them on , without the use of a engine lift . And if you build a set of these make sure you add a safety chain or other safety device . |

I saw the safety holding the rotation and also wondered about the sliding lock plate that appears to be attached to the hub through a linkage... In the days of mechanical brakes, I'd a thought it was to lock the rotation but doubted my thought. I simply passed it off as a "I dunn0"
What is it for?

Sliding lockplate ?
Tom , I am posting some more photos of the rotisserie . I think what you are see is the adjustable sleave that the arms that bolt to the car body are welded to . And X-ray here is how I positioned the brake levers .

Found my next project .
I have found my next big project for my shop . It is called the Cadtrac , Will Order plans next week from the company . It is similar to a skid steer loader but is a articulated loader with 4 wheel drive ,no transmission and attachments can be added to it to make it more versitle and since to rent a bobcat for two months is cost prohibitive for building my shop . I started looking for a used one and found many of them but nothing that I was willing to spend money for , too old and beat-up or too new and too dear for the wallet . Soon to be SWMBO ,Likes the idea of me building this instead of buying one that might cost more in repairs than a new one would cost . Will get the plans and read them and post the progress while the build goes on . Hope it is not a waste of time . Dan
