Wilton C2

Well I had been watching it on marketplace for a few weeks, 175 for a ROUGH C2. I found a guy at my work that lived pretty close so I gave him some cash and sent him to get it. It needs a set of jaws and the swivel base is missing, but a C2 for 175 isn't bad in my book. I found some jaws on ebay for $100 so it should be ok.

So what are your thoughts on hardened jaws? The ones I saw on ebay are hardened but I've got access to 3 4 x 2 stainless bar stock at work. I'm wondering if I should just use that, i could cut it down to 3/4 x 1 and drill the mounting holes.

Stainless is likely too soft and hard to cut, at the least use mild steel.
