The burner gas orifices, coming from the factory are too large, the are 3/8" holes. The orifices are in the side of forged pipe caps, there are (15) 3/4" npt and (15) 1/2" npt pipe caps.
17 - (15) 3/4" and (15) 1/2" forged pipe caps 18 - used the lathe with a end mill to get the interior of the cap flat and 3/16" thick. 19 - drilling in a centering jig, to get (2) 1/4" holes per cap jack |

I'd have to add those 10" circles to my resource pile because they would double my total pile.
I like your work Jack, they need apples but have oranges, and you give them apples. Well something like that. |

I can't keep everything, I'd need to start storing it at Norm's, Dave's and Cav's, if I did. jack Last edited by platypus20; 09-26-2011 at 05:47 PM. |

Back in Vermont, chipping away at the burner installation. My helper failed to show today and all of the parts seem to be about 28 ounces to the pound. Installed the new gas orifices, then installed the burner head, and all of the related piping. Started to weld up the FGR piping, welded 4 flanges on the (2) 10" short radius 90 degree elbows. Also started to lay out the rest of the FGR piping.
1 - refractory ring, blended into the front wall tile, using fire proof clay 2 - gas orifices, the ones I made and the ones I removed 3 - the burner head, installed in the burner 4 - the blower motor 5 - gas butterfly valve and the gas servo jack |

Jack the gas orfices made me ROFLMAO. The ones you made look like a pro did the job . The ones that came with it look like a 4th or maybe 5th grader hacked them out with a dull hacksaw .
