Default roller stand

as much as i would like to take credit for making these, i can't, my Father made them. they telescope from about 30" to about 46", the roller is a 2" sch 80 pipe and the bearings are nylon incerts (wich work really great and at a cost of .88 each are hard to beat!) the inner tube is 2X2X1/4 and the outer tube is 2.5X2.5X3/16 and the legs are 2" "T" iron. the only thing i don't like about them is the paint scheme, i'm not sure why he chose to go two tone but he did

Good looking stands Tigman. As soon as I get the new floor poured in my shop and get everything back in order, my first project is going to be making some of those stands. I've needed some for awhile, but never got around to building any.

They sure make life a little easier when moving long pieces of material.

As for the color scheme that was used ......................

I put these together. This one is just a peice of 3 inch channel on top, don't have a picture of the roller stand I will get one later. I use the channel for catching parts after cutting. The pipe is 1 inch and 1.25 inch not sure what schedule. The fit is some what loose. the legs are 1/2" x 2" flat bar with nuts tacked on the ends for feet.

30 some years ago, I worked as a plant engineer at a citrus packing house, and we used what was called "arguda bearings" on some of the conveyor rollers. Check with a industrial supplier in your area. They were available either in fiber or nylon.
Whew, had to really scratch the old noodle on that one!
