Worked just as good. I am ordering another feeder in a few hours. I'm sure I will get Profax rolls for it when it gets here.

I have yet to find anyone that advertises any Profax anything, except Ram Welding Supply. If you find anyone, post it for me. I would like another option as always.

I bought a motoguard airfilter thing from here, and they advertise pro-fax guns: http://www.weilerwelding.com/

Ray,
I working on it but I have not found the right technique for pulse up
in the range I am working .140 I need to cut some thicker stock
and try some more. The bead profile was not quite right. Down sure
is nice and probably all you would ever need in the thinner ga.

I did fid it easy to pulse spray upside down though.
The little gun does not even get warm which is really
nice

No splatter This pulse overhead should be a hotter pass than a short circuit pass in the same weld position ?

Are you using that S-6 national solid wire you guys were talking about in one of shades mig wire threads ?

Anyway thanks for your expenditure of time and effort

The wire-feed (440 ipm) was way hotter then Vertical or Horizontal.
It does get into the root very nice. It was plenty hot for that
thickness.

It was some Esab stuff that came with one of my units.
It's Corex 706-S It really was not a good short-arc wire.
The metal type of the base is unknown to me but it's got
some thin millscale (silver looking)?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here but this looks ALOT like the hobart forum. Anyway, I made a couple of 15Sec videos of some uphill GMAW using 75/25 Ar/Co2 and .035" 70S-6.

The welds are not the greatest but may be of interest.
http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com...GMAWUphill.htm

The still pictures are a little blurry (maybe a good thing ) but the video came out OK.

If you want to go right to the vid without the page

1st pass

http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com...s/1stpass3.wmv or
http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com...s/P1010002.MOV

2nd pass (Sorry Quicktime Only right now)

Hey Gerald,
Nice to see that you found your way here. I always enjoyed your input at AWS.

Default Not trophys but here you go BX

"Be sure to post your short-arc beads with the Hobart." asked Brand X

Vertical UP
Steelmix, .045s-6
1/4"mild steel
Hobart: WFS 9 O'clock w/V 17±

These are kind've Sukey, but you can see I'm still favoring one side (see splatter & floaters). The beads are short too not used to that c-frame shape of the roughneck gun I think.

I have to pay attention to the starts with the Hobart, it does not tolerate having the gun too far away from the work like the Lincoln does when first lighting the arc. fwiw
